Tastytrade
capi.tax reads your trading history from a Tastytrade transaction export saved as a CSV file. This page shows you how to produce that file from the web platform. Whatever you upload is processed directly in your browser and never sent to a server.
Where to find the export
- Log in to your account at tastytrade.com and complete any security check.
- Open
Historyfrom the main navigation. - Select the
Transactionstab. You will see your full trading activity listed here.
Setting the date range
The export only covers the period you choose, so set it to the full tax year:
- Open the date filter at the top of the list.
- Choose
Custom Range. - Enter January 1 to December 31 of the tax year you are preparing.
- Apply the filter so the list shows that whole year.
Export to CSV
- Select the
Exportbutton, shown as a download icon. - Choose
CSVas the format. - Pick
All Transactionsso trades, dividends and other entries are all included, not just trades. - Download and save the file to your computer.
On capi.tax, choose Tastytrade as your broker and upload this file.
Good to know
- Export full calendar years. A complete year gives the most accurate result.
- Make sure
All Transactionsis selected. Exporting only trades leaves out dividends and other entries. - If the
Exportbutton is missing, check that there are transactions in the date range you picked. - Tastytrade writes dates as month/day/year. capi.tax reads this format automatically, so no adjustment is needed on your side.
capi.tax prepares your data; it is not tax advice. Please review the figures and ask a tax advisor (Steuerberater) about your personal situation.
